Say good night to the last psychedelic band

I know I lose a lot of indie rock cred for saying this. I know I'm supposed to worship at the altar of Pavement, but I don't know what the big deal is. The lyrics are cool and it seems like they invented the literate, ironic lead singer that indie rock loves so much these days, but I don't like their music all that much. I listened to Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain again today and I'm still not feeling it.

"Cut you Hair" is still pretty awesome, though.

I know what you mean for most of their stuff - but there are other great exceptions.

You gotta love "Stereo," "Shady Lane" and "Spit on a Stranger."

You still do have to be in the mood for it, though...

What do you think of Stephen Malkmus's solo stuff?

Ooh, "Shady Lane" is good! I haven't heard any of Malkmus' solo stuff. Maybe I'll have to check it out.

Ooh-ooh ooh-ooh ooh-ooh! Ooh-ooh ooh-ooh ooh-ooh ooh ooh!

I love "Cut Your Hair" too. I do skip a lot of tracks on that album but "Range Life" is a great summer song. It's good for the car with the windows down.
